The American People's Lobby (APL) is a grassroots movement aimed to:

Educate
Motivate
Resolve

We must first educate our fellow Americans to the dangers of corporate lobbying and its control over our government. Second, we must motivate the citizenry to support APL's initiatives; thereby gaining strength in numbers and fiscal resources. And finally, we resolve to compete dollar for dollar against corporate lobbyists in order to influence our legislatures to vote in favor of bills which protect the average American and the future of our country.
The top issues:

1) Jobs Creation = Rebuilding our Economy

Green sector jobs

PROS:

Train workers to compete in global economy
Repurpose auto plants to revitalize manufacturing sector
Positive environmental impact
Reestablishes U.S. as innovators in new technologies
Raise taxes on companies that outsource jobs or build plants overseas
Provide tax incentives for companies to keep jobs in the U.S.

2) Campaign Finance Reform

Public financing of elections
Ban on privatization of voting machines
Ban on computer / non-transparent voting systems without paper trails
Ban government officials or staff members to work as lobbyists for 7 years after leaving government positions

PROS:

Forces our representatives to vote in favor of the American people and not for money entrenched corporations
Ban on ex-government employees from working as lobbyists will keep legislation process pure, i.e. employees are not working to pass bills in favor of companies as a future payback for a job

3) Ending the Afghanistan war PROS:

$2 billion spent weekly on war can be diverted for domestic spending for collapsing infrastructure, education, health care, and training programs to get Americans back to work
